Care and Support for Social Justice Activists and Movements
Working for collective liberation can at times feel overwhelming, and leave us feeling isolated and depleted. Experiencing the pain of injustice often fuels our work but can also accumulate over time causing burnout and despair.
Taking time to care for ourselves and one another, building in tools for individual and collective care are part of bringing into being the world we want.
This is about more than the individualized ‘self-care’ of yoga and bubble baths. This is about building a culture of care within our movement spaces, to create conditions for each of us to grow, thrive, and bring our unique gifts forward.

Experience and Training
I have been committed to the work of nonviolent social change for more than two decades. After completing a month-long training in nonviolent conflict intervention with Christian Peacemaker Teams, in 2006-2007 I lived and worked in the Palestinian occupied territories as a human rights observer and solidarity activist. I have been engaged in numerous large and small justice and anti-war demonstrations. Locally, I have been involved in organizing and planning a range of actions and demonstrations in resistance to war and nuclear weapons, and in support of environmental justice and Black Lives Matter.
